They shouldn't teach the Theory of Evolution and natural selection in school because...?

I'm christian and I'm a VERY strong one. I love God and i will never turn away from Christianity. But in school last year when i was in 7th grade, they tought about the theory of evolution. this really made me doubt God for a while. it made me mad that they teach this because im probably not the only one that this has happened to. Shouldn't they let u say that u don't want to be taught this because it goes against your religion? i wish i had the option. now im back and don't doubt God anymore but i can't believe i ever did. Do you agree that they shouldn't teach this? Also, when they teach about planets and outer space, doesn't that make u think a little beyond christianity and make u doubt it just a little? to know that there is more out there. and if aliens are real, that made me doubt too. but, like i said, i don't doubt anymore because Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
