Lawn mowing question?

we have quite a small lawn last year i bought lawn mower from argos gave it away because lack of storage,was wondering could i use a gr trimmer for the lawn rather than a lawn mower they have some in argos or any advice would be appreciated gardening is not one of my favourite chores.
