Am i being set up?

ok this guy & i stopped dating ( too many issues to name). so his frat brother (my buddy) came to chill with me one night, during that night he trashed talked me & his fraternity. he was very pive/aggressive, complementing me, & then talking down to me within the same 10 minutes of the convo.make a long story short, dis guy tried to break down my confidence so dat he could date, me & make me upset with his frat brothers (y idk) i confronted 1 of his frat bruhs about da crap dis guy told me & we exchanged stories, so now i'm friends with everyone except 4 da guy dat did all the trash talking. they wanted to patch things up with me, but inviting me & my buds 2 dinner.(i didnt go). later dat night da guy who i stopped dating asked me y i didnt go 2 dinner, & i havent spoken 2 him n 2 wks! y would he asked me such a random question after we were no longer on speaking terms? sorry this is so long & confusing
