Can i swim/get in hot tub 1 week after belly on piercing?

i got it pierced a week ago today and want to go down to my boyfriends parents club for the weekend. it is a private resort, so there arent very many people getting in and out, and virtually no little kiddies that would be peeing in it lol. it is healing very nicely, doesnt hurt anymore and is just a little bit red right around the piercing. i really dont want to take any chances of it getting infected and scaring or something but my boyfriend seems to think it wont be a problem as long as i wash it when i get out and am not in for hours at a time. i also heard maybe just putting a bandaid over it would protect it (im uming they meant a water proof one?) any help is greatly appreciated, especially from experience! lol. thanks!
